Active Children Every Day!

Why exercise?
Regular physical activity is important for the growth, development, health and well-being of children and adolescents. Be active parents, sports shows our children the way forward. Your child takes you as a model, but also his brothers and sisters when the family is active if it is active.
Encourage young people to be active at an early age is give them good habits for life. Healthy habits start soon now.
The benefits of being physically active
  • Have good bone and muscle growth
  • Having a healthy cardiovascular system
  • Achieve and maintain a healthy weight
  • Reduce stress, have better concentration
  • Better sleep improves posture, prevent joint pain
Children who do not move enough are at risk of being overweight or becoming obese.
If a child is overweight, it will be more likely to develop health problems during his childhood and throughout his life, including:
  • Hypertension or heart disease;
  • Type 2 diabetes;
  • Sleep apnea and other breathing problems;
  • Abnormal or disrupted menstrual cycle;
  • Problems in bones and joints;

Recommendation
According to the World Health Organization (WHO):
  • Children and teens 5-17 years should accumulate should at least 60 minutes per day of physical activity of moderate intensity sustained.
  • Being physically active for more than 60 minutes provides additional health benefits.
  • Daily physical activity should be primarily an endurance activity. Of vigorous-intensity activities, especially those that strengthen muscle and bone health system should be incorporated at least three times per week.
To help children and adolescents to achieve this level of activity, in addition to those made in the context of school life, they need an extra-curricular sport and activity with the family on weekends or weekdays.
Physical activity includes sports, travel, daily activities, and recreational activities in the home and at school.
Active children each day for better health
After this talk, it's time to take action, but then how?
  1. For me this is the basic family ballad time physical activity and family time, recreational ride or hike more organized matter but have fun!
  2. Be a good role model and have the physical attitude, be content to move, a ballad is synonymous with well-being and not a chore
  3. Encourage your children to try different sports so they can find one that is made for him.
  4. Housework, ale ale that's hard to impose
  5. As soon as the weather allows a part of football, a game like cat perched
Obesity in children is not to be taken lightly
Childhood obesity appears to be more serious than common sense could leave us thinking problem. Obesity among children is a particular concern because the extra pounds will put the child on the path reserved for adults, such diseases as:
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Hypercholesterolemia.
Furthermore, childhood obesity can lead to low self-esteem and depression.
The short-term consequences of childhood obesity
A new study published by UCLA * conducted by Dr. Neal Halfon, shows that childhood obesity may be a more serious problem than previously thought, especially in the short term. The study included 43 297 children aged 10 to 17 years. The researchers of the study evaluated how the weight and height of children were associated (with or without) their general health, psychosocial functioning, and specific health problems.
This study notes that overweight and obesity in children are associated with many negative health consequences:
  • Poor general health.
  • More emotional and behavioral problems.
  • The increase in diabetes cases.
  • Learning difficulties
  • Joint problems, muscle
My advice
Firstly do not panic. If your child is overweight, or obesity (consult your doctor to find out, avoid doing to your child) do not try to diet and start to put on a diet because it does not work! However, it is time for your family to change your eating habits, and yes it is up to you to lead by example and gradually bring your child to imitate you in your diet.
